Should autistic people be taking multiple medications?

Spectrum explores the range of medications that autistic children and young people may take and discusses the difficulties and side-effects of taking multiple prescription drugs. The article features a number of case studies of autistic children given multiple medications to relieve symptoms of ADHD, aggression and depression, and highlights concerns from researchers that some may not work. The issue of side-effects is examined, particularly when less experienced doctors’ mistake side-effects for symptoms of the condition.
