Being autistic and a police officer

In this article published on the BBC website, Daniel Gordon explores what it is like to work as a police officer when you are autistic. He speaks to Sergeant O'Loughlin and Chief Inspector Colston, who were diagnosed as adults.  Both men think that autism is a real asset to their work, despite some of the difficulties that come with it. They believe that autism is very well represented in the Police force - at least in Avon and Somerset.

The National Police Autism Association has just over 700 members, although not all of them are autistic.
