Major study on autism and mental health launched

Researchers from Birmingham are launching a major new UK study into autism and mental health problems. Following a report from research charity Autistica which found that autistic adults without a learning disability are 9 times more likely to die from suicide and autistic adults with a learning disability are 40 times more likely to die prematurely due to a neurological condition, The charity is calling for autistic people and their families to take part in the research. The study is a collaboration between experts from the Cerebra Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the University of Birmingham, Aston University and Autistica.
