Reducing disability-related bullying in schools

Children and Young People Now discuss calls for the Department for Education to provide more support for tackling disability-related bullying within schools. DRILL (Disability Research on Independent Living and Learning) have produced a report suggesting there is ignorance about disability issues amongst schools pupils, including those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). The report has a number of recommendations, such as a minimum standard for disability awareness in the personal, social, health and economic (PHSE) education curriculum.
