Scottish employment scheme helps young autistic people

A National Autistic Society Scotland scheme has worked with 40 young autistic people towards employment last year, the Scotsman reports. The Moving Forward Programme helps autistic people develop skills for the workplace, gain social confidence and find employment. The charity also works with employers and public agencies, including GPs, Jobcentre Plus, Skills Development Scotland, schools, universities and the private sector to ensure autistic people succeed in work. The scheme is funded by Cashback for Community, a unique Scottish Government programme which uses money recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Act to fund projects for disadvantaged people.
