SEND cuts put 'children at high risk of exclusion'

A survey by the National Education Union (NEU) found that cuts to special educational needs disability (SEND) budgets in mainstream schools have worsened, puttting children with SEND at risk of exclusion because they are not receiving the support they need. Tes reports that half of the staff surveyed say they their school have had their SEND budget cut compared to 40% last year. The NEU calls for urgent funding so that schools can "keep SEND pupils safe and provide the help and support they need." The survey results were presented at the NEU conference.
