Suicidality risk factors in autistic adults

Research published in Molecular Autism explores whether there are specific risk factors for suicidality in autistic adults. The study looks at a range of factors such as mental health, self-injury, masking and delay in autism diagnosis. The results suggest that autistic adults had a significantly increased risk of suicidality, particularly those who had experienced self-injury, a lack of support and those who had masked in social situations.
