Use of physical restraint rises

The BBC reports on data which suggests that the use of restraints on adults with learning disabilities rose in English hospitals between 2016 and 2017. The article suggests that the use of face-down or prone restraints has also increased, despite government guidance advising against it. The report also highlights figures showing that while the number of adults in inpatient units has fallen, the number of children has almost doubled.
