New Employment Group

Hi all

We've set up an Employment Group for discussion around autism and employment. You will need to be a registered member to access it - we'll be updating it regularly with new employment-related articles and recent research. You can also attach documents that you think others will find useful.

Please do join us if you have an interest in employment! We welcome professionals, autistic people and parents/carers who would like to share information, resources and good practice.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask about this, but I am looking for a job coach who is either autistic or specialises in supporting autistic people.

Are you able to help me?

Hi Erica

Network Autism is a platform for sharing good practice as opposed to details of services, but the Autism Services Directory will hopefully have some useful information for you. You can search for type of service and location, e.g. employment services in Glasgow.

You can access the Directory at

The National Autistic Society also has a Finding Work handbook for autistic people and professionals that might be useful reading.

I hope that helps.

I feel I'd like to disclose my autism diagnosis to a former employer (in retrospect), --- I feel she may have had some misconceptions and mis-perceptions about my communication skills in the office. This has affected her being a bad reference for future jobs on my behalf.   How should I approach having a retrospective conversation with a former employer?
