Middletown Centre for Autism, partners of Network Autism, have produced accessible research summaries of topics of relevance to professionals working in the field of autism, in particular professionals working in education or with children and young people.
This issue looks at autism and play. It contains summarises of twelve articles ranging in date from 2010 -2016, including topics such as joint attention and play, teaching pretend-play to autistic children and parent-child interactions in play.
It also includes an interview with Connie Kasari PhD, Professor at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and a founding member of the Centre for Autism Research and Treatment, on the importance of play for autistic children.
