Autism, gender and mental health: an interview with Dr Joshua Muggleton

Dr Joshua Muggleton is a clinical psychologist who works with children with learning disabilities, some of whom are on the autism spectrum. Joshua received a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome in his teens, and uses his personal and professional experience to deliver talks on a range of autism subjects.

Joshua kindly agreed to be interviewed for Network Autism when he attended the National Autistic Society Professional Conference in 2018.

In this interview Joshua discusses gender differences in people on the autism spectrum, his research into cognitive behavioural therapies and support with mental health problems.

I am pleased to see the diagnostic bias is being researched and highlighted. Any further research to support female recognition is valauable.
