Autism and music: an interview with Turtle Key Arts

Charlotte Cunningham, Jackie Walduck and Daniel Parkin are from Turtle Key Arts, an arts organisation that runs projects for young autistic people. Musical Portraits, a project they run in partnership with Wigmore Hall and the National Portrait Gallery, is a summer programme which supports young people to create their own music.

Charlotte, Jackie and Daniel kindly agreed to an interview with us when they attended the National Autistic Society Professional Conference in 2019.

In this interview Charlotte, Jackie and Daniel discuss the importance of making arts accessible to autistic people and how they went about designing an inclusive music project. They also explore the benefits of creative music-making for young autistic people.
