The Children and Families Act has now come into force in England (September 2014). The Act will change the arrangements for support that children and young people with special educational needs will receive at nursery, school and college.
Liesel Batterham, Education Rights Coordinator at the National Autistic Society, explains the changes brought by the new Children and Families Act. Liesel has written four initial guides to the upcoming SEN reforms covering SEN support, assessment and review of education, health and care plans and the local offer.
