The recent Budget at the beginning of March, along with confirming the deeply concerning proposal, and now introduction of changes to the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) criteria also brought the more welcome news of £2bn for social care and a future green paper on social care funding. The funding is a start towards plugging the gap in adult social care but a long term solution is still not in place and adult social care is at a crisis point. The green paper is a welcome but needs to address these long term concerns and lead to a sustainable social care system. What should the government be focusing on in this green paper to meet the needs of the social care needs of autistic people?
