Entitlement to EHC plans for 18 to 25 year olds

The Department for Education has published guidance on 19 to 25 year olds entitlement to education, health and social care plans (EHCs) in England.

It explains why a young person may need an EHC past 18 years of age, and outlines the education, training and benefits that local authorities are expected to provide for young people with SEND, including supported internships. It also discusses health and social care needs and highlights some advice on including young people in decision making.
