This resource is a colourful story to help prepare children for hearing assessments. It is written to be appropriate for all 3-8 year olds but has an emphasis on children with Asperger's syndrome or high functioning autism.
It is an illustrated story describing the visit to an audiology clinic for a hearing test. The story features Jack, a boy with Asperger Syndrome, and his sister Molly. The aim of the story is to prepare children for what will happen during the appointment in order to reduce their anxiety and improve the productivity of the appointment. Special emphasis has been put on reinforcing appropriate behaviour in areas that children with social communication disorders find difficult.
