Parent to Parent Emotional Support Helpline
The Parent to Parent Emotional Support Helpline provides emotional support to parents and carers regarding their autistic children/grown-up children. The service is provided by trained parent volunteers who offer telephone support from their own homes.
Each of our volunteers has personal experience as the parent of an autistic child or adult. They can give other parents the opportunity to talk through problems and feelings.
We aim to respond within 20 working days but it may take longer when the service gets very busy. You will receive one call from our volunteer which may be from a withheld phone number. If the call is not answered, volunteers will leave a voicemail (when permitted) to say they are calling from Parent to Parent and they will call again after 5 minutes. If the call is not answered on the 2nd attempt, the volunteer will send you an email to let you know they called and explaining how you can make another referral to the service.
